Why do you think Candy and Crooks are so sour towards Curley's Wife?

Hi Class of 2023!  One of the things that I found most interesting in part 4, was how Crooks and Candy were so sour towards Curley's wife.  For example in part 4, Crooks told Curley's wife to "'go along to your (her) own house now.  We (Candy and Curley) don't want no trouble'" (77).  I think this reaction from Crooks means that Curley's wife causes lots of trouble on the ranch.  Crooks and Candy are wise to not take the "trap" from Curley's wife.  The two old men are smart to avoid Curley's wife flirtatious actions and notions towards men.  Avoiding and showing sourness towards someone is one of the best tactic's to make them try to leave.  This is very significant to the book because some people might not be as wise as Candy and Crook's.  This can make other workers that come along, a bit unlucky.  This leads to the possibility of Curley's wife being one of the main reasons that ranch workers leave because they don't want trouble.  However, some of the ranch workers also might fall for the trap and end up in jail or in some other bad situation.
