Why did Curly's Wife trust Lennie so Deeply?
Curly's wife always had the eye out for other men on the ranch. In particular, she liked to flirt with Lennie. But after finding out that Lennie had killed on of the pups, she starts to tell her deepest secrets to him for no apparent reason. She said things like, "'I don' like Curly. He aint a nice fella... Coulda been in the movies, an' had nice clothes'" (89). I believe that she had been bursting to say things like this to a person for a long time, but because she had no one to go to, she had to keep them to herself. She trusted Lennie with these secrets because he would not tell anyone, or think they were important. He repeatedly kept talking about how he will tend the rabbits which further showed he did not consider their conversation to be significant at all. All this made Curley's wife trust Lennie with her darkest secrets.
