Leadership on the Ranch

In part 2, we can see that many characters take on leadership in the Ranch. This book shows that leadership is prominent all over the ranch. Although the Boss seems to be the defined leader, I personally think that Curley is the one who is really being the on making the choices, this is so because he is very rough with the other men and does not take kindly to other men speaking up for one and other. Here in this quote when George wouldn't let "The big guy talk...S'pose he don't want to talk...By Christ he's gotta talk when he's spoke to. What the hell are you gettin' into it for?" (25). For this reason, Curley shows that he is a leader who should be addressed the same way that his dad was in the previous page. In conclusion, Curley is the definite leader and the ranchers around him will almost always obey him.
